Thou Shall Not Covet.

“Many things in life are not fair. We live in an un-fair world. The Tenth or Ninth commandment told us how to deal with this issue of fairness. God said, “Thou Shalt Not Covet.” Exodus 20:17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” What this President is calling for is based in covetousness. As I started in my post below…we are not all the same and we don’t all have the same gifts, talents and abilities. “That is not fair.” However in this so called unfairness lies the wonder and beauty of an Omniscient and Omnipotent and Omnipresent God. We are not all the same because God values uniqueness! As a matter of fact our uniqueness is our value. What is the same is far less valued than what is unique.
Instead of complaining about what is unfair, we need to thank God for what is unique about us as individuals. We need to seek to use the talents and abilities we have been given to bring glory to Him. That is our purpose. To bring Glory and Honor to God.
Jesus said, “A mans life does not consist of the abundance of things that he possess.” Luke 12:15 and he prefaced this statement with these words, “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:” This was a strong warning. The NIV translates this verse this way, “Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed;”
We cannot allow ourselves to be dragged into comparing ourselves to our neighbors and envying and desiring what he or she has against what we don’t have. Paul wrote at the end of Corinthians 12:31″ But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.” And then he went on in Chapter 13 to describe that better way! Though I have the tongues of men and of angels and have not love I am a tinkling symbol and a sounding brass!
Yes many things don’t seem “fair.” But we can know that God is a just God. His “fairness” is not based on one’s status. His “fairness” is not based on what one person has and another doesn’t have. His fairness is in the FACT that He is the OMNIPOTENT ONE, OMNIPRESENT AND OMNISCIENT ONE!”

God bless America!!!

  1. Can you imagine if virus hit America that only attacked the envy behavior causing it to disappear? The demorats would pull all the funding from other sciences to combat that mofo.
Aids, breast cancer, ect research would be put on the back burner
I could do a TV episode of “24” with that one. 🙂
