Ready for some more hard truth? Granted this is something most of us have known for awhile, but now it’s the “hot” thing to come out of the closet and brag about being a leech upon society! Wrong is Right and Right is Wrong, get it RIGHT conservatives!
A female caller to an Austin, Tx radio show figures that over a life-time she’ll easily suck up a million dollars from the ‘go-to-jail-if-you don’t-pay’ IRS largess of taxpayers. I know and so do the rest of you, that she will actually be handed-out much more than a million dollars over her lifetime! I’m curious to know if she’s a generational welfare recipient? Generations of welfare recipient’s breed those that have not one iota of motivation!
Those that share that caller’s sentiment have been raised by the hand of the government to expect limitations, so therefore to just ‘get by’ and/or find ways to “supplement” regardless of legality, because hey it sure beats having to find some true inspiration and motivation to give up the mind-set of ‘my needs’ before others! Basically what they are saying is I’m all for fair-share as long as I’m covered and it doesn’t require any changes to me and mine! Fair-share is a one way concept to those like this lady, they only perceive it as, you or someone else that in their minds, some how lucked into, knew some folks, had an advantage, or was just plain luckier than they SHOULD be charged for taking care of them. As that ideology is also pounded into their heads by so called civic leaders that keep expounding on how “disadvantaged” they are without giving them solution on how to become an independent of welfare, and much more financially successful while weaning themselves from government assistance! That is the key word, it’s assistance, meant to be temporary, not to become an acclimated lifestyle! This is one of the main reasons I advocate for term-limits on welfare assistance with bi-annual assessments, therefore if the assistance is still needed, what areas should this person be helped in to become financially independent.
I put a quotation picture at the top of this blog that is a quote that is often erroneously attributed to Pres. Abraham Lincoln as the originator of the quote. President Ronald Reagan also repeated this quote in his 1992 address to the RNC in Houston Tx. Reverend William John Henry Boetcker was an American religious leader and public speaker throughout his life time of 1873 to 1963. That quote of his is from his pamphlet titled, The Ten Cannnots which stresses freedom and responsibility of the individual on himself. Rev. Boetcker also spoke of the Seven National Crimes, which are:
- I don’t think.
- I don’t know.
- I don’t care.
- I am too busy.
- I leave well enough alone.
- I have no time to read and find out.
- I am not interested.
Below is the transcript and video/audio of that female caller to an Austin Tx radio show, which is the inspiration of my Thursday Tell It Like It Is Truth Rant:
“While workers out there are preaching morality at people like me living on welfare, can you really blame us?” “I get to sit home… I get to go visit my friends all day… I even get to smoke weed…”
“Me and people that I know that are illegal immigrants that don’t contribute to society, we still gonna get paid.” “Our check’s gonna come in the mail every month… and it’s gonna be on time… and we get subsidized housing… we even get presents delivered for our kids on Christmas… Why should I work?”
“Ya’ll get the benefit of saying “oh, look at me, I’m a better person,” but when ya’ll sit at home behind ya’lls I’m a better person… we the ones gettin’ paid!”
“So can you really blame us?” read more…
Reminds me of the song titled, What I Want. Because other than bills being paid and filled bellies, if one only views employment as just working for basic needs, then they have never been taught to be passionate about something, life goals, gratification from self efforts, and the true meaning of giving back without government coercing!
